There are a lot of fun, active events going on in Southwest Florida this weekend!

August, 25, 2018: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Coffee with a Cop
August 25, 2018: 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. Beach Box Cornhole Tournament
The Cape Coral Police Department is having a Coffee with a Cop event at the Starbucks on Pine Island Road this Saturday. From 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. you can meet and talk with Cape Coral Police about basically anything. Whether it’s community issues or just dropping by to say hi, the Cape Coral Police Department wants to encourage a positive bond between citizens and the police department.
“Usually when people are calling us, it’s not their best day, maybe they’re having an emergency. It’s not really a nice time to get that face to face. So this is a much more informal and friendly atmosphere that we’re able to speak with the public in,” said Corporal Phil Mullen with Cape Coral Police Department.
Show off your cornhole skills at the Beach Box in Naples this Saturday from 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. You’ll have the chance to win $500 for first place. Do you have what it takes? It’s $30 for a two-person team, or $15 per person.
Meet some of SWFL’s native wildlife at the Walk on the Wild Side event at Lakes Park. Saturday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., you can walk around the park and learn more about how you can be an eco-conscious resident. There will be presentations on and off throughout the event and lots of fun crafts at each booth. This event is family friendly and completely free.
