The Lee County homeless coalition has a message for all of Lee County. At the beginning of 2018, the cold front that caused Florida’s temperature to drop to 40 degrees motivated Southwest Florida to donate blankets and supplies to homeless shelters such as the Salvation Army.
We documented the whole process, and it was terrific to see SWFL come together for our community. But we were left wondering what happens after the cold passes. How can we continue to motivate people to pay attention to our homeless problem?
We met with the Lee County Homeless Coalition to talk about an event that will be happening in the City of Palms Park. The coalition is putting together a group of resources at the park for the homeless community and is looking for volunteers to help with the attendees. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in the community and help alleviate our homeless problem.
The event takes place at the City of Palms Park on Saturday, January 20 at 8:45 am
Address of the event: 2201 Edison Ave, Fort Myers, FL 33901
