Island Hopper Songwriter Festival
A 10-day festival kicks off this weekend. Singer/songwriters from all over and a lot of locals come together to perform around SWFL. This weekend they start in Captiva then make their way to Downtown Fort Myers and then off to Fort Myers Beach by the weekend. There are over 100 performances and only eight of them have a ticket associated. You can enjoy lots of free music this weekend.

11th Annual SWFL Peace Day Celebration
To celebrate the international day of peace, SWFL is having a celebration this Sunday where the community can come to learn about peace and how we can make a difference starting here, in SWFL. There are three different stages set up, lots of live music, fun crafts for kids, an agility park for dogs and so much more. The event is completely free and family friendly. There will be free yoga and meditation throughout the day.
They are also collecting non-perishable food items and dog supplies to give to local organizations.
Vintage Market Days
Shop vintage finds all weekend at the Lee Civic Center. This huge event features 100 vendors and about 70 PERCENT of those are local. They will have live music and food trucks. Restocking every day, they won't run out if you decide to wait until Sunday to check it out. Tickets are good for re-entry. If you purchase a ticket on Friday $10 you can get in all weekend and if you visit Saturday or Sunday it's $5.
Lee County Domestic Animal Services is having discounted adoptions
until September 30. It is now $10 for cats and kittens and $15 for dogs and puppies. All Adoptions include sterilization; age appropriate vaccinations; county license; microchip ID; de-worming; flea treatment; a heartworm test for dogs; feline AIDS and leukemia test for cats; and a 10-day health guarantee. They are open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
