SWFL Entrepreneurs to Watch

The masterminds behind Stabilized Steps, Envision, and Swimmie Caps are taking their inventions to the next level.

Fort Myers currently holds the No. 10 spot as the Best Small City to Start a Business, according to WalletHub .

But entrepreneurs from all over Southwest Florida are getting into the game.

Over the weekend, two health and wellness startups won $25,000 each for their inventions during VenturePitch SWFL.

Stephanie Gomez and Eryk Hardwick invented Stabilized Steps . The co-founders created stabilizers to attach to the bottom of walkers for people who may have trouble walking.

Andrew Maskery tapped into technology to develop Envision , an at-home treatment subscription to help people who lost their sight after a stroke .

And the third entrepreneur to watch is Yolanda Flournah-Perkins, founder of Swimmie Caps. Yolanda’s invention led her to become a finalist for the 2018 Black Enterprise Voting Pitch.

The SWFL native has a chance to win $10,000 for her invention.

We introduced you to Yolanda earlier this year when she shared with us why she invented swim caps specifically for Black and Hispanic children with curly hair.
