Personal Labs offers their customers medical tests straight to their door and tested all without a doctor.
At first, this sounds dangerous. Why give people who are not medical trained medical tests?
After talking to Personal Labs General Manager, Trey Wilson, things made a lot more sense. The Tests are delivered in medical sealed packaging and instructions for the patient to go to a Quest Diagnostics location to get the test administered. After a day or so, (depending on the test), the result pop up on their Personal Labs web account.
The results are the same results that would be given to a doctor. They also offer a service to speak to a doctor online for 15 minutes, or you can take the results to your personal care physician.
So, what do you think? Is this a way to make our healthcare system more efficient or is this a recipe for generating bad results?
