If you’re looking for a serene place to unwind in Southwest Florida, take a short trip over to the Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens in Punta Gorda, Fla.
The botanical garden has been in growth mode since 2006 and is nestled behind the property of Roger and Linda Tetrault’s four-acre residence.
With endowments from the Tetrault Family Foundation, Peace River Gardens is on its way to becoming one of Florida’s largest botanical and sculpture gardens once it’s fully complete.
In total, the garden will occupy 27 acres of which 10 will be reserved for existing heritage mangroves, marshlands, and waterways.
At the moment, visitors are able to enjoy the fresh scents of exotic plants and flowers that are sprawled throughout 11 acres , and they can take in the sites of gigantic sculptures created by internationally-renowned artists.
Peace River Botanical Gardens is located at 5800 Riverside Drive in Punta Gorda, Fla. Its opened Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
