Things to Do

Rocking The Art World

10:20 AM, Aug 28, 2018

Rock for Equality
Spread the love. When I talked to one of the organizers behind this event, Frankie Colt, she said “We just want people of all backgrounds, people who love different kinds of music, different kinds of art to just hang out, come together and show the world that here in SWFL, we all can just get together and love on each other.” With local bands, an open mic, art vendors, community organizations and drinks, you can expect a peaceful, chill night. Donate for entry. Friday, 7PM – 11:55 PM. HOWL Tattoo & Piercing. 4160 Cleveland Ave. Fort Myers.

Art Walk
Need Friday evening plans? Downtown is the place to be. Every First Friday of the month is Art Walk. Local (and incredibly talented artists) line the streets of The River District (the fancy name of our beloved downtown area). Honestly, we don’t live in a place where our downtown is just constantly poppin’ with lots of things to do and non-stop artistic excitement. Which is why when Art Walk happens you definitely have to take advantage. From canvases and jewelry to music and entertainment, it’s a good time for girls night, family night or date night. Free. Friday, Nov. 3. Downtown Fort Myers (1st & Hendry St.).

Taste of the Town
You’ll find some of your favorite SWFL restaurants in one place. We’re talking Bonefish, The Melting Pot, Famous Daves, Love Boat Ice Cream – just to name a few. The 35 th Taste of the Town is upon us, people. For a $10 admission (children are free), you can enjoy samples from local restaurants. This is a staple SWFL event that doubles as a fundraiser for the Junior League of Fort Myers, which helps to support local organizations that serve at-risk communities. The only other things I can think of that will make this event worth attending are bands, beer and wine – oh wait! They will be there. Toiletry donations will be accepted to benefit victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. Check the website for details. $10 Admission. Sunday, Nov. 5. Children 12 and under FREE. Parking is free. 11AM – 5PM. Alliance for the Arts. 10091 McGregor Blvd. Fort Myers.

Family Day at Millennial Brewing
Every Sunday, you can take advantage of Millennial Brewing’s FREE weekly-family centric event. Movies on the big screen inside, food trucks, bounce houses. Spend Sunday with the fam. Free. Sunday, Nov 5. 12:00 PM. Millennial Brewing. 1811 Royal Palm Ave. Downtown Fort Myers.
