What Buzzes, Drinks, Fights Crime and Gives FEMA Updates?

We all know Hurricane Irma pummeled our environment in SWFL. The creatures in our ecosystem hit the hardest? Bees! Three local individuals are dedicating their time to help save them . But, they’re not the only ones who can help! By planting things like lavender, palmettos and citrus in your garden, you can make an impact too. It’s time to bee-lieve in the future of our planet! Speaking of Irma … after six months, FEMA is now ending its shelter program for Floridians displaced by the hurricane . So, Gabriel went searching for information and instead ended up with a whole bunch of questions. What if you still don’t have a place to live? What if your home hasn’t yet been repaired? If you or someone you know has the answers, let us know! So, a guy walks into a bar, steals a purse and the chef chases him down and puts him in a headlock! This is not comedy, people. This really happened at Nevermind Awesome Bar & Restaurant on Friday March, 2nd. Nothing like a hero and a dang good cook! From the street, Marlin’s Brewhouse might look like any other Southwest Florida brewery, but it also has TACOS! Tara dropped by and uncovered great food, awesome beer and really high ceilings. We give this new spot the seal of approval! (But wait, ask our Hello SWFL foodie, Logan, first.)

Join us for Down and Derby

The first of its kind in Fort Myers, this Kentucky Derby-themed party & social event will be just the right mix of fun and flair for those who want to get “Down & Derby”! The Down & Derby Party, hosted by HelloSWFL, will be held on the beautiful back lawn of the historic Heitman House with amazing views along the Caloosahatchee River, just a few blocks east of downtown Fort Myers. Net proceeds from this year’s Down & Derby Party will benefit Valerie’s House, a loving place for grieving families in Southwest Florida.
