Social Media Façade: How we Present Ourselves Online

For some, social media is the connection to almost every aspect of our lives. Social media is a way for many people to share their lives with others. A lot of times, people make their lives seem better than they really are. The reasons for it differ from person to person, but it all contributes to the social media façade.

How many times have you posted a picture on social media making life look a little “better” than it actually is?

Most of us have done it. We posted pictures with our significant others, even though you were in a fight, or showed off pictures from an overseas vacation that might have ended more than three months ago.

Have you ever posted a picture of yourself on social media looking happy, when you were actually really having a tough time?

If you’re struggling with anxiety, depression or just need someone to talk to there are several places throughout Southwest Florida that are willing to help.
