Lee County and Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida are teaming up for its donation drive.
So, if you have gently used clothing and household items you’ve meant to get rid of, you might want to make a pitstop at the Good to Go event .
Donations will help Lee County residents and military veterans who might be experiencing economic hardship.
This year marks the second time Lee County and Goodwill Industries has come together for the Good to Go event. “Moving forward, they may happen annually or more likely several times a year,” Besty Clayton said in an e-mail to HelloSWFL.com.
Donations will be accepted on Friday, Feb. 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fort Myers Regional Library.
The idea behind Good to Go is to make it easy for you to donate your unwanted items in a drive-thru setup. That means you don’t even have to get out of your car.
There will also be a prescription drug drop-off where you can get rid of unused prescriptions and over-the-counter medications.
And if you have documents you’ll like to throw away, Good to Go will have a shredder where you can securely get rid of mail and paperwork that might have sensitive and personal information.
If you plan to make donations, shred some documents, or dispose your expired pills at the Good to Go event, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out to us on our Facebook page .
