A recent U.S. Supreme Court decision ruled that states can now start collecting online sales tax. The court’s decision could give e-commerce businesses in Florida a boost.
Online shopping pulls in nearly $400 billion every year. “For Florida, the taxes they will get between $200 million to $700 million,” said James Miller, senior director of the Florida Retail Federation.
Now it’s up to Florida lawmakers to decide how the online sales tax will be enforced.
