Hello SWFL Goes To Orlando

You’ve seen the videos we have created, the articles we have written and the moments we have captured–but do you know who is behind the work at Hello SWFL? Well, now you can. Meet Martin, Melanie, KJ, and myself as we venture northbound to cover the NCAA game in Orlando, Florida.

The crew packs into our newly rented Nissan and heads northbound on 75. Scanning the radio for a worthy song choice to act as our road trip anthem, we exchange friendly conversation and discuss options for a coffee break. Somewhere between corny road trip games and laughter, I realize how grateful I am to be a part of such a wonderfully collaborative and creative group of individuals.

We arrive at Amway Stadium and instinctually take our positions. KJ sets up the virtual reality camera at the perfect vantage point while I take Facebook live video, taking part in the excitement of local Florida Gulf Coast fans. Martin captures the essence of Church Street through photos, while Melanie seeks out her next food adventure.

Though we have only been working together for a few short weeks, we have become a strong working team. When KJ stops to edit his recently captured footage, Melanie assists him with music selection, while Martin and I work together to seek out fans to interview. When one person loses focus, the other steps in to provide insight and direction.

Venturing down the streets of Orlando after the game, we are all overcome with a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. As we get make our way back to the car to journey home to Fort Myers, I take a moment to look around at my colleagues with genuine admiration for their talent, appreciating my fortune to call them my friends–my fortune to absorb their knowledge and drive for bigger and better things.
