After Cape Coral police arrested Felipe Cruz Hernandez, a daycare worker who allegedly showed sexual videos to the kids, Cape Coral resident, Vanessa Holston reacts – saying she quit taking her kids to daycare long ago.
Cape Coral police arrested Felipe Cruz Hernandez, an in-home daycare worker, for allegedly showing sexual videos to the kids – and making sexual gestures, too.
“It’s horrible, it’s devastating,” reacted Cape Coral resident, Vanessa Holston.
Holston says she ran daycare centers for 25 years and is horrified by what allegedly happened.
“When I was a foster parent, I quit taking my kids to daycare because of the things that go on behind closed doors. It’s horrible,” she said.
According to the police report, Hernandez was visiting from Cuba. The children call him, “Popo”. He’s charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior and one count of showing obscene material to a minor.
He’s in custody now, but it’s a reminder that parents must always be asking the right questions when looking for a daycare. Or even after they’ve found one. Holston has safety tips in the video above.
