Early voting in southwest Florida has ended. Here's how the numbers break down .

A whopping 5 million Floridians have already voted! That's more than 40% of the registered voting population.

Here's the breakdown for the state:

FLORIDA
PartyNumber of Early and Mail-In Votes
Republican

2,049,181

Democrat

2,073,936

Independent

951,254

Democrats are currently leading the state, but look how close those numbers are. And with that many independent voters, this election really could go either way at this point.

Here in Lee County, things are a little more defined:

LEE COUNTY
PartyNumber of Early and Mail-In Votes
Republican

107,726

Democrat

58,347

Independent

43,273

But that's still a massive amount of independent voters.

A good takeaway here is that people are voting. To put things in perspective, the last time Floridians voted for a governor, 5,951,561 people voted. Total. Early voting this time around has already amounted to 5,110,080 votes. Tomorrow is election day and those totals could skyrocket.

If you haven't voted yet, make sure to find out what's on your ballot and where your polling place is.

To help you out on the state amendments, here's a cheat sheet on what a yes or no vote really means.
