Blue-green algae is back again. It was first spotted this week on Tuesday at Franklin Lock in Alva. It worked its way down the Caloosahatchee River to a few spots.
People reported seeing the gunk near Admiralty Circle and Coon Road, a quarter mile east of Edison Bridge. Some was also seen in the river near Old Bridge Park.
John Cassani with Calusa Waterkeeper says it’s unclear how long it will last, and depends on the salinity and tidal action. But we’ll keep you updated.
