Birth Control Recall: TAYTULLA Sample Pack in Wrong Order

Pharmaceutical maker Allergan warns consumers that four placebo capsules were placed out of order.

The pharmaceutical maker Allergan issued a voluntary recall for its birth control sample pack TAYTULLA.

In its press release, Allergan stated that four placebo capsules were placed out of order.

“The first four days of therapy had four non-hormonal placebo capsules instead of active capsules,” the company explained.

Allergan placed TAYTULLA packages with Lot# 5620706 and the expiration date May-2019 on the voluntary recall list.

Allergan is sending recall letters to customers who may have acquired the sample pack. The company is advising customers who have the sample pack to contact their doctor so they can return the product.

If you still have questions after you’ve spoken to your health practitioner, you can call Allergan 800-678-1605 between the hours of 8am-8pm EST Monday through Friday.

Also, any “quality problems” that evolved from the use TAYTULLA can be reported to the Food and Drug Administration’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting Program. You can download the form here www.fda.gov/MedWatch/getforms.htm or call 1-800-FDA-1088 to request form.
