9/11: Fort Myers Beach Fire Dept. Remembers the Fallen

Today marks the 17 year anniversary of when more than 2,000 people died in the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and aboard United Airlines Flight 93. Ever since that tragic day, communities across the country gather to remember the fallen.

The Fort Myers Beach Fire Department was granted two pieces of structural I-beams from Tower Two of the World Trade Center. To commemorate the lives lost, Fire Station 33 held a ceremony to honor the fallen heroes and victims.
