Happy Friday Eve, my friends! What a week. But, ya know what? It’s in the past. Let’s talk about the weekend, shall we? I’ve got something for the vegan lovers, the outdoors lovers and the lovers of love … lovers? Haha. That sounded better in my head.

Riding around the town

Happy Friday Eve, my friends! If you haven’t noticed by now, the Cape has some really awesome events going on year round. This weekend, the 27th Tour de Cape takes over the region. This is an active event for the runners, sprinters, bike riders and even the kids. Three days of events brings a 5k, a 3 mile bike ride especially for kids and an actual bike tour through the Cape. Kickoff celebration is on Friday, where you’ll get on your swag! Check out the registration information for details. Jan. 19 – 21st. Friday – Sunday. Cape Harbour.

Pride!

Bring on the pride, baby! I love a pride event and I love that you are able to find them throughout SWFL. If you’re looking to explore the area this weekend, head to Punta Gorda! Not only will the pride event take place there, but this a quaint area which makes the perfect location for lunch, dinner and of course … shopping! Oh and one more thing, guys! CHER will be in the house. Well, a CHER stand-in & drag performer. Free. Saturday, Jan. 20th. 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. Laishley Park. 100 Nesbit Street. Punta Gorda.

All the good food in one place

Give me all the vegan trucks! You don’t have to be vegan to love vegan food. Actually, you might be surprised how much you like it! And for my vegan lovers…Uhhm…where else would you want to be on a Saturday night? All the sweet treats will be on deck, too, including donuts and ice cream! Enjoy a healthy night out, along with a little indulgence (craft beers and wine will of course be on deck) and live music at the Vegan Food Truck Rally. Free to attend. 5p.m. to 11 p.m. Millennial Brewing. 1811 Royal Palm Ave. Fort Myers.

Fiery, starry showcase

I love a good firework show and I love a free event. Hence why it’s pretty awesome that the
Seminole Casino is offering a free fireworks showcase this weekend! Grab your lawn chairs and head to the Casino’s annual “Celebration in the Sky”, a family-friendly fireworks show. This show is produced by one of the largest fireworks companies in the world and it should be a blast (See what I did there?).
Free. 9pm. Seminole Casino Hotel. Saturday, Jan. 20th.
