No child will go without food this summer in Lee County.
The School District of Lee County’s Food and Nutrition Department in partnership with the USDA is providing free breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday until July 27.
“A typical meal, today we’re having turkey and cheese sandwiches, vegetable dippers, we have fruit cups, a pack of Cheez-its, and a milk,” Registered Dietician Amy Carroll said.
Over 100 locations are participating in Lee County. No registration is required, and there is no income requirement. Young visitors that are not from Lee County are all eligible.
Of all the K-12 students in Lee County public schools, 70 percent participate in in the Free & Reduced Lunch Program.
To find your nearest participating location, you can call 211 or text “FoodFL” to 877-877.
