Easter 2017: Get Eggcited

10:20 AM, Aug 28, 2018

It’s Easter season a.k.a the time when families scan the local area for the best egg hunts. This year, the turnout at the Wa-Ke Hatchee Recreation Center Easter Egg Hunt was among the best in town. Not to mention, the event was put together with help from local children.

Children up to the age of twelve came together to hop around and seek out the best of surprise-filled eggs.

The grounds of the Wa-Ke Hatchee Recreation Center are lined with parents and eager children. Baskets in hand, nearly 500 kids race through the grass to pick up as many eggs as their basket can hold.

Older children in local after school programs were tasked with the responsibility of stuffing the eggs with candy.

Program Specialist, David Lau elaborates,”It’s super important to have fun and give [kids] a chance to help others knowing their hard work put smiles on other kids faces.”

Nothing manifests the Easter spirit quite like helping one another for the purpose of a fun-filled day.
