Police Looking For Man Responsible for Carjacking, Armed Robbery

Officials are looking for a suspect they believe is tied to both a carjacking and an armed robbery that happened late Sunday night.

Just after midnight, a man wearing a grey and white bandana over his face approached two PDQ restaurant workers who were sitting in their car after closing the restaurant. The suspect pointed a gun at them and demanded to take the car, saying he didn’t want to hurt them.

The two complied and followed the stolen 2010 grey Honda Insight. The suspect drove north from the location near S. Cleveland Ave. and Brantley Road before heading south toward Estero.

A PDQ spokesperson told us the employees involved are OK, just a little shaken.

Less than an hour later, an armed robbery was reported at 7-Eleven off Estero Parkway and Three Oaks Parkway. The suspect was a white male between 5′ 10″ and 6′, wearing the sam bandana as described above.

He ran away in the same car believed to be stolen from PDQ.

7-Eleven declined to comment for this story.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS, or online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com . Callers remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000.
