If you find yourself on Pine Island with the sudden urge to go fishing, check out the Bokeelia Fishing Pier . Located on the north end of the island at the Bokeeilla Island Seaport lies a fantastic fishing spot.
Come here to enjoy fishing under both a covered area and an open dock area if you would like to work on your tan while you fish. For eight dollars, you will get access to the far end of the pier from 7am to 7pm. Rods and reels are available to rent, in case you forgot yours at home. Bait is also available for sale. Some of the fish you can look forward to catching are Snapper, Grouper, Red Fish, Snook, and Sheep Head, to name a few.
If you don’t end up catching anything, you can grab a bite to eat at Capt.’n Con’s Fish House, located at the entrance of the pier. This seafood spot is complete with outdoor seating and views of the water. Oh, and did we mention parking is free for both the pier and the restaurant. The pier is also free to walk on until you reach the gate, at which point you must pay an entrance fee. So, if you want throw a line in or go for a walk along the pier, be sure to give this beautiful little Florida town a visit.
