The Hope Clubhouse

The Hope Clubhouse in Fort Myers is one of those places that captivates you from the moment you walk in. It is a program that assists adults with mental illness by providing job preparations, housing, health and other services that help build their future.

Zachira Acta works at the organization in the culinary department and reached out to us to come by to experience the atmosphere of this place. She welcomed me and said that I could interview some of the club’s members. To my surprise, it was really hard to distinguish members from the staff. This is because the Hope Clubhouse allows each of its members to hold a staff position in a department that interests them.

I love when we do stories like these. Our community is filled with positive organizations that are worth talking about – any time they are highlighted is a win for the city.
