Iguanas … Friend or Foe?

Iguanas are a huge problem in SWFL. They are not native to this area and are causing damage to a lot of seawalls in Lee County and Cape Coral.

We spoke with wildlife trapper Alfredo Fermin to get a first-hand look at the issue. Fermin claims he catches up to 10 iguanas an hour at some of his client’s house, it is his job to trap/eliminate them. Some people find this harsh and touching the lines of animal cruelty so we reached out to the FWC and they gave us this link to read www.avma.org
