Crime in Fort Myers Drops Almost Five Percent in 2017

Crime in the city of Fort Myers has dropped 4.6 percent from 2016 to 2017.

According to data from the Fort Myers Police Department, the number of murders dropped more than 33% over the two years.

In 2016, Fort Myers police logged one manslaughter case. In 2017, there were none.

The only violent crime that increased was robbery.
